Orchard Theatre Company grew from a shared need to expand — in art, in process, in life. Our mission is to plant the seed of creative collaboration by nurturing the intertwined roots of storytelling and community. We believe that everyone carries an innate spark of art, and through honest movement and authentic live storytelling, we strive to open and widen doors of empathy, passion, and human connection. Why Join Our Board — and What You’ll Do
As we embark on the next chapter of growth (including national and international opportunities such as our 2025 production at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe) Orchard Theatre Company, we’re seeking board members who will help us:

• Foster and support our creative and artistic vision — bringing in fresh ideas, perspectives, and artistic ambition.

• Expand our reach: help grow our audience, build community partnerships, and increase awareness of Orchard Theatre Company’s work.

• Advance our financial sustainability: through fundraising, donor cultivation, development strategy, grant writing or connections, and long-term fiscal planning.

• Provide strategic guidance: helping shape company direction, season planning, and organizational growth.

We envision a board that mixes theatre artists, innovators, community-minded supporters, and those with financial or development expertise — people who are inspired by art and excited to help build something meaningful.

Who We’re Looking For
We welcome individuals who bring:

• A passion for theatre, storytelling, and community — whether you’re a creator, performer, designer, director, or passionate arts advocate.

• Creative vision and innovative thinking — someone energized by ambitious and boundary-pushing theatre.

• A willingness to collaborate, communicate, and work as part of a team.

• Either existing skills or a strong interest in development/fundraising, financial strategy, community outreach, or organizational leadership.

• Time, energy, and commitment to attend board meetings, participate in fundraising or development efforts, and support projects as needed.

• Enthusiasm for growth: ready to help Orchard expand its reach, impact, and sustainability.
